December 2, 1990. A date nobody would forget. Antón escapes a sure death inside a 260-plus gallon water tank. Performing one of Houdini’s legendary escapes, Antón faints after 3 minutes and 35 seconds of immersion.
The members of his crew pulled him out of the tank thus saving his life. Upon regaining consciousness, Antón promises to embark on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela (patron saint of Galicia) with a new show. After a two-year bureaucratic pilgrimage, his promise becomes a reality. And, lo and behold, ladies and gentlemen...

“VIA LACTEA” (“The Milky Way”) is born. A magical extravaganza where literature, cinema, music, drama and magic join forces to narrate a story about the pilgrim’s way to Santiago de Compostela (burial site of Saint James the Greater, according to tradition). The latest developments in technology, lighting and sound brought Antón’s promise to over 50,000 spectators who shared in Antón’s dream of magic. That first night, at the end of the show, the curtain dropped and Antón, deeply moved, could not help but cry. He had kept his promise. PRODUCCIONS MAXICAS and the CONSORCIO DE LA CIDAD DE SANTIAGO (the town’s department of cultural activities) contributed to make his dream come true.
